Biography

Sakshi Parate is a highly motivated research scholar with a passion for personalised medicine. With an M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology and a Post-graduate Diploma in Cellular and Molecular Diagnostics from The Oxford College of Science, Bengaluru, she brings a solid academic foundation to her work. She completed a six-month Industry Internship at BigTec Pvt. Ltd., where she honed her skills in molecular diagnostics, nucleic acid extractions, and qPCR-based analysis. Now, as a dedicated researcher at CSBMM, she is actively working on developing ex vivo drug testing platforms for personalised therapy inbreast cancer, aiming to revolutionise the way we approach treatment. She is also exploring the area of anticancer drug resistance to find novel targets using traditional medicine as surrogates. Her thirst for knowledge extends beyond her domain, as she takes up the challenge of mastering Mass Spectrometry techniques, from sample preparation to data analysis. Her versatility is further evident through her involvement in cell culture validation studies, where she explores the activity of various ayurvedic formulations.
