Biography

Prashant Kumar Modi

Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Dr. Prashant Kumar Modi obtained his Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University. During this period he studied the effects of aging on glial cells with special emphasis on the astrocytes of the mice brain. During his post-doctoral training at Dr. Pushkar Sharmas laboratory, National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, he worked on delineating the molecular mechanisms involved in cell cycle related neuronal apoptosis in Alzheimers disease. He has been a recipient of DBT Research Associateship during 2011-2015 from Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. Currently, he is involved in the identification of biomarkers and novel therapeutic targets in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinsons disease and Alzheimers disease using cutting-edge technologies in genomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
