Dr. Johny Ijaq, obtained his MSc in Biochemistry and PhD in Biotechnology from Osmania University. During his doctoral research, he utilized machine learning and proteomics approaches to investigate human hypothetical proteins. Later, he worked as a Research Associate in the metabolomics facility at the University of Hyderabad for two years. Currently, he is working as a scientific officer at the Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology and Center for Systems Biology and Molecular Medicine (CSBMM) at Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). In his current role, he is associated with managing the tumor biobank and coordinating various cancer research projects. Additionally, he is involved in projects aimed to understand the cell signalling and metabolic networks in cancers using CRISPR gene editing and mass spectrometry technologies.
