Biography

Prashant Kumar Modi

Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Dr. Prashant Kumar Modi obtained his Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University. During this period he studied the effects of aging on glial cells with special emphasis on the astrocytes of the mice brain. During his post-doctoral training at Dr. Pushkar Sharma‘s laboratory, National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, he worked on delineating the molecular mechanisms involved in cell cycle related neuronal apoptosis in Alzheimer‘s disease. He has been a recipient of DBT Research Associateship during 2011-2015 from Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. Currently, he is involved in the identification of biomarkers and novel therapeutic targets in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson‘s disease and Alzheimer‘s disease using cutting-edge technologies in genomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
