Neurobiology Research & Therapeutics (NRT)

Neurobiology, the nervous system study, has made remarkable progress in recent decades. This dynamic field integrates disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science to unravel the complex brain and nervous system functions at multiple levels, from the molecular and cellular levels to the systems and behavioral levels. Our brains rely on intricate connections, with each neuron forming numerous physical contacts with other neurons to transmit information and store memories. The adult brain contains over 100 trillion connections, with some neurons connecting to thousands of other cells. The loss of these connections results in various pathological conditions affecting the nervous system. Neurological disorders represent a significant category of conditions that impact the nervous system and human health, imposing a substantial socio-economic burden. This division is committed to pioneering research across multiple facets of neuroscience, including cellular, molecular, and systems neuroscience, cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, and neurological and geriatric disorders. The goal is to comprehend the brain's structure and function in health and disease. Additionally, this division emphasizes the application of traditional and modern medicines for treating various neurological and geriatric disorders, along with efforts in new drug development and biomarker discovery.

● LC-MS/MS-based biomarker discovery for various neurological disorders
● Post-translational modifications in neurodegenerative disorders special focus on Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease
● Uncovering the signaling mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders using proteomics and metabolomics approaches
● Dissecting the molecular mechanism involved in neuroprotective functions of Ayurvedic medicines
● Cutting-Edge Drug Discovery for Neurodegenerative Diseases
