Poornima has completed her M.Sc. in biotechnology from Kuvempu University, Shivamogga and later pursued Industrial Internship at Biocon Research Centre, Bangalore. She has worked as Project Assistant at Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bangalore. The work focus has been on tuning the expression of pharmaceutically important proteins in Yeast models. She has extensive hands-on experience in yeast genetics, molecular biology and gene editing tools like CRISPR/Cas9. She is presently working on mass-spectrometry based proteomics.
